High Point Furniture Market
Fall 2020 Color Trends
For those of you who are not familiar, the High Point, NC, Furniture Market is a semi-annual, 5-day, 2,000 manufacturer, 12 million square foot market for trade professionals. Often with an attendance of over 80,000 people, this year was much different. In an effort to spread out attendance and account for expected reduced capacity requirements for showrooms and buildings, Fall Market was expanded and held over nine days. There were health checks every day, required for entrance, sanitation stations everywhere and great social distancing. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend for four days and it was a very different market indeed. While attendance was considerably less than normal, the fewer crowds meant more individual attention from manufacturer representatives and more knowledge gained. While there are many new trends to discuss, today I will focus on just one; COLOR! Here are a few highlights from my recent trip:
While gray is still the neutral color of choice and every showroom had their fair share of gray vignettes, bolder, deeper colors were trending this fall.
Persimmon, Salmon and Pink
Dark Marine Blue
Forrest, Hunter and Olive Green
Black and White or Black and Gold
Green and Blush
I hope you enjoyed this little pop of color from my journey to High Point. I am excited to see how these colors will come to life in our clients’ homes! If you would like for us to help bring these trends into your home, please contact me for a consultation.
