We mourn the loss of Larry J. Sandles, former co-owner of Five Star General Contracting and AR Homes/SandStar Homes, who died April 20 after battling acute myeloid leukemia. He was 67.

Larry retired on December 31, 2017, and though it was a loss for the company, it was a well-deserved respite for him. Much too soon, we now feel the profound and unexpected passing of a beloved man who left a memorable mark on all who had the pleasure to know and work with him.

In his retirement announcement, Larry noted the hundreds of clients who had become like family and friends to him, and how his philosophy had always been to do the right thing and treat others as he’d want to be treated. We firmly believe that all who knew him would agree he went above and beyond that motto.

Please join us in keeping his wife, Joni, children, Nick, DeShea, and Tate, and their family in your thoughts and prayers.

He will be sorely missed.
